SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Andrew Sankey, director of the Hancock County Emergency Management Agency, has praised the town’s police and fire departments for their response to the discovery of a suspicious device at the Lower Town Dock that caused the temporary closure of Clark Point Road Oct. 22.
“Both agencies performed admirably and professionally,” Sankey said in an email to town manager Don Lagrange.
He said Acting Police Chief Mike Miller “seamlessly integrated into the role of the on-scene incident commander, coordinating the many agencies that played a role. His leadership was invaluable.”
Sankey also said Officer Shawn Murphy also provided “invaluable support.”
