BAR HARBOR — The Down East Living with Cancer Conference will take place at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center, 119 Eden St., on Thursday, Nov. 3. Registration begins at 8 a.m. The conference is from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
“Taking Control” is the theme of this year’s conference, which features speakers talking about ways to control ones environment, nutrition, care and pain.
Deborah de Moulpied, environmental toxin expert and faculty member for the Anticancer Lifestyle Program, will talk about how to create a cancer-free home.
Donna Walsh, coordinator of nutrition and wellness for the Harold Alfond Cancer Center, will speak about healthy eating for cancer survivors.
There will be workshops on self-advocacy, being comfortable through treatments and medical marijuana. In addition, a panel of cancer survivors will tell their stories, and complementary therapy sessions will be available throughout the day. The conference is offered at no charge.
