SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The Mount Desert Island Community Sailing Center (MDICSC) is now accepting registration for all junior and adult summer sailing programs.

Weeklong sessions for beginning and advanced youth sailors will begin on Monday, June 19, and go through Friday, Aug. 17.

Youth sailors can sign up for beginner, intermediate and racing level courses. Each session ranges from $125 to $200 per week depending on skill level and residency.

For beginning adults, a six-day course will run on July 5, 6, 11, 13, 18 and 20. The second session will run on Aug. 1, 3, 8, 10, 15 and 17. The course is $350 per session.

A women’s sailing club is available for ladies of all ages and skill levels. It is a relaxed way for women of varying abilities to learn basics and share knowledge with the group. The class will meet every Monday night for six weeks beginning on July 10 for a registration fee of $350.

MDICSC also is hosting a Level One United States Sailing Association instructor trainer course from Thursday, June 22, to Sunday, June 25. The course is a prerequisite to work as a sailing instructor at most sailing organizations. A Level Two course will be offered from Saturday, July 1, to Sunday, July 2.
