College to stay neutral

BAR HARBOR — College of the Atlantic (COA) officials this week announced that the school has no official position on the deer management plan that local voters will face at the polls on Nov. 4.

“While faculty and students have worked closely with, and hope to continue to work closely with, the National Park Service and other biologists examining wildlife issues, this does not indicate a position on political questions such as whether to conduct a winter deer hunt,” a statement by COA president Darron Collins said.
