Church installs hearing system

BAR HARBOR — The Bar Harbor Congregational Church has installed a system to improve hearing quality throughout the church. The induction loop system provides high-quality sound to enabled hearing aids and, along with an audio speaker in the choir area, serves the sanctuary, parlor and downstairs hall during church services, meetings and events.

The improvements deliver amplified speech signals to hearing aids equipped with an activated “telecoil switch,” known as a “T coil.” Intelligibility is greatly increased over that of microphones because it eliminates background noise.
