TREMONT — Two people are running for the upcoming vacant seat on the town’s Board of Selectmen.
The incumbent vice chairman of the board, Jamie Thurlow, has taken out nomination papers for another three-year term in the seat. Morgan Black is the only other person to take out papers for the position.
Tremont School Committee member Andrew Simon will not be seeking re-election for his seat on the board that serves Tremont Consolidated School. Two people, David “Jed” Campbell and Jessica Bass, have taken out papers for the three-year position.
Amy Harper will not run for her soon-to-be open seat on the Mount Desert Island High School Board of Trustees. Kristin McKee is the only person to file nomination papers for the position.
Nomination papers for all open seats on public boards serving the town were due March 14. Voting will take place by secret ballot for all open positions on May 13 at the Harvey Kelley Meeting Room in the Tremont Town Office.
