Water company building is sold

BAR HARBOR — The old Bar Harbor Water Company building at 337 Main Street will be renovated into vacation rental apartments under the plans of the new owner.

The town sold the building on Friday, July 26 to Nina and Tom St. Germain of Bar Harbor. The pair plan to use the property for vacation rentals, town manager Dana Reed said.

The purchase price was $410,000, Reed said. The paperwork exchanged hands on Monday, July 22 at the Bar Harbor Savings & Loan, but by law, the buyers had a three day right of rescission.
