MOUNT DESERT — Joyce Anderson, RN and BSN, has joined the Mount Desert Nursing Association as the new nursing administrator.

Most of Anderson’s 20-plus years in nursing have been as a visiting nurse in home care. She believes that home nursing care creates the healthiest environment to support the well-being of the patient and the nursing process.

Anderson said, “it is with gratitude that I begin this endeavor working with the community of MDI and the MDNA.” When Anderson isn’t at work, she can be found with her grandchildren, in the garden, or with the goats she raises. She makes her own yogurt and cheese.

MDNA provides home-based care for stable, chronically ill patients (diabetes, blood pressure checks, medication management) in addition to skilled nursing care under physicians’ orders. Visiting nurses allow patients in our community to remain safely at home.

Call the MDNA at 276-5184.
