BAR HARBOR — The owners of Salon Naturelles, a new beauty shop and holistic health destination at 74 Cottage Street, see their establishment as more than just a place to get a haircut or body wax. They see it as a place to de-stress, get in touch with one’s inner self and enjoy feeling radiant and beautiful on more than just a surface level.

“This is our sanctuary,” co-owner Danielle Hostins said. “We are very loving and caring people. We are really trying to work on the inside as well as the outside here.”

Hostins opened Salon Naturelles this spring with hairdresser Amanda McLaughlin. Both have approximately 10 years of experience in the field and share a commitment to organic and nourishing products and to providing a healthy, positive environment.

The women are joined at the business by Antoinette Caruso, a nutritional therapy practitioner and Reiki master who offers holistic services designed to improve one’s physical, mental and emotional health with foods and nutrients.

Salon Naturelles offers a full scope of services, from women’s, men’s and children’s haircuts to color work, body hair removal, manicures, pedicures and permanents. The salon also offers 10- and 20-minute de-stress aromatherapy sessions, deep conditioning and detoxifying hair treatments and bridal packages.

Caruso offers private consultations both in the salon and over the phone and uses meditation, Bach flower remedies, energy balancing and nutritional support to treat a variety of ills.

Salon Naturelles is open just about every day except Sunday. The salon owners plan to hold a grand opening celebration in July.

More information can be found on Facebook or by calling 288-5555. Caruso’s website is carusonutritionalhealth.com, and she can be reached at 664-3754.
