MACHIAS — Zachary Means and LuAnn Ballesteros are the newest directors of the Machias Bancorp MHC and its subsidiaries.
Ballesteros is the director of government relations at The Jackson Laboratory. She received her bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies from Husson University as well as an associate’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Maine at Farmington. She is an active participant in the state’s business community and a graduate of the Maine Development Foundation’s Leadership Maine Xi Class. She is co-chair of the Mobilize Eastern Maine Executive Committee, a Maine State Chamber of Commerce board member and a former board member of the Maine Cancer Foundation and the Bangor YWCA.
Means is vice president at Means Wealth Management in Bangor. He attended Bentley University in Waltham, Mass., where he received both his undergraduate and master’s degrees. Means is founder and past chair of Fusion Sports, serves as a member of the Bangor Rotary (past secretary), is a member of the finance committee for the United Way of Eastern Maine and is on the endowment committee for the Katahdin Area Boy Scouts.
Both new directors are expected to draw on their diverse skills and experiences to contribute to the future success of the bank.
