BAR HARBOR — Havana Restaurant recently hosted a benefit dinner in support of the work of the North Atlantic Right Whale Bi-national Early Alert Coastal Network, an initiative focused on protecting the most endangered large whale on the planet.

Mark Dittrick, director of the network, thanks restaurateur Michael Boland, the staff at the restaurant, event organizer Zack Klyver of Bar Harbor Whale Watch, Bill McWeeny of the Adams School in Castine, three of McWeeny’s students and Allied Whale founder Steve Katona for making the event such a success.

BAR HARBOR — Fiore Artisan Olive Oils and Vinegars recently made a $1,500 donation to the Jesup Memorial Library after its third annual fundraiser, held in November.

“It is wonderful to have such steadfast support from our business partners. People began asking in September when the Fiore event would be held so they could put it on their calendars,” said Ruth Eveland, Jesup director.

Fiore rejoins the Jesup Memorial Library’s business council at the Vanguard level. For more about the business council, contact Melinda Rice, director of development and communications, at 801-8331 or email [email protected].
