BAR HARBOR — On the morning of Saturday, Nov. 8, people will be setting their alarms to roll out of bed and onto the streets of Bar Harbor for the 20th Annual Early Bird Pajama Sale.

Organized by the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce and presented by the Bar Harbor Merchant’s Association, the event features local shops throughout downtown that will open at 6 a.m. that morning to offer some of the best sales of the season, with even better discounts going to those dressed in pajamas.

The event runs from 6-9 a.m., and a list of participating locations can be found at www.barharborinfo.com.

Following the sale at 10 a.m. will be the bed and pajama parade down Main Street to Cottage Street, where the 8th Annual Bed Races will take place. Teams of five will race their decorated handmade beds on wheels in two heats, competing for a $500 cash prize and the newly designed 1st place trophy. Prizes also will be awarded for second place and most creative.
