Downsized subdivision is planned

BAR HARBOR — A large chunk of undeveloped land just outside of downtown will be divided into residential building lots, according to its new owners.

The 35-acre piece of Hamilton Hill, bordering Kebo Street, Cromwell Harbor Road and Kebo Valley Golf Club, was once eyed for what would have been the largest subdivision in Bar Harbor history. However, new owner Chris Swan has more modest goals in mind.

“We’re going to have a maximum of 14 units,” Swan said Tuesday.

Swan and his business partner Scott Hengeller bought the Hamilton Hill property from the Juliano family on Dec. 30, 2013.
