TREMONT—Selectmen have voiced concerns about an upcoming repair on the bridge over Cousins Creek on Route 102.
Beginning July 9 – next Monday – the bridge will be reduced to one-lane traffic. That lane will be 12 feet wide, which is likely to limit passage by large boats and construction equipment, several selectmen said during a Monday meeting.
Repairs to the bridge include resurfacing. The deck of the bridge has begun showing signs of age due to leaking, according to a report to the town.
Traffic will be regulated by a temporary signal light. Commuters can expect alternating one-lane traffic over the bridge during the construction.
Work on the bridge is slated to take about six weeks.
Cousins Creek is located near the Kelley Farm in Tremont.
