BAR HARBOR — The Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce has named Martha Searchfield as its new executive director.
Searchfield is a local inn owner who stepped in to run the organization after the chamber and previous CEO Nancy McKechnie parted company last December.
Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce President Cinnamon Catlin-Legutko made the announcement on Monday. “After a nationwide search, it became apparent that Martha was the best possible choice. Her skillful and dedicated leadership throughout the past several months on an interim basis has reinforced the decision,” Catlin-Legutko said.
Searchfield, who with her husband, Tim, owns the Canterbury Cottage Inn, will begin working full time in the chamber’s top spot as of April 27.
“I have always loved being part of the Bar Harbor community as both a resident and small business owner, and as a longtime member of the chamber of commerce. I am very excited and looking forward to serving the community in my new role as executive director of the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce,” said Searchfield.
