BAR HARBOR – A Bar Harbor man was arrested Monday in connection with the death of 19-year-old Mikaela Conley of Bar Harbor.
Detectives from the State Police Major Crimes Unit arrested Jalique Keene, 21, on a murder charge, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.
Keene was taken into custody at the Bar Harbor Police Department on Monday night and taken to the Hancock County Jail. His first court appearance is expected either Tuesday or Wednesday,
Conley’s body was found midday Saturday in the woods behind Conners Emerson School by a State Police dog. State medical examiners determined the death was a homicide Monday but did not release the cause of death.
Conley was reported missing by her family Friday. An extensive search involving multiple law enforcement agencies took place Saturday.
