Benefit dinner set for Open Table MDI

MOUNT DESERT — A benefit dinner for Open Table MDI, a new community initiative with the sole purpose of offering free, healthy community suppers, will be served at The Neighborhood House in Northeast Harbor on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 5-9 p.m.

The event, which organizers hope will be an annual one, will feature live music and dancing with The Blake Rosso Band, Banned From Eden, Mondo Charlie and Phil Kell & Friends. A silent auction will include over 60 items donated by local businesses and artists. A donation of $8 per person or $20 per family is suggested.

Beginning Feb. 6, Open Table MDI, in partnership with Healthy Acadia, will offer free, healthy suppers to all at the Bar Harbor Congregational Church, 29 Mount Desert St., Bar Harbor. The dinners will use local and organic food when possible. How often these dinners will be held has not yet been determined. Healthy Acadia is the 501(c)3 nonprofit “home” for this project.
