Bank employees support HCTC

BAR HARBOR — Bar Harbor Bank & Trust employees recently presented a donation to the Hancock County Technical Center from its employee-driven charitable giving program, Casual for a Cause.

“Hancock County Technical Center (HCTC) greatly appreciates the generous donation from Bar Harbor Bank & Trust for its inaugural Career Exploration Middle School Camp,” said HCTC Director Amy Boles. “The donation shows the company’s investment in and commitment to career and technical education as well as local workforce needs. Thank you to Bar Harbor Bank and Trust and its employees!”

Hancock County Technical Center is hosted its first annual Career Exploration Middle School Camp, Aug. 9-13. The camp allows for hands-on discovery, where students will explore pathways, programs and career choices as well as gain skills and knowledge in different career clusters, financial literacy, and workplace readiness.

HCTC provides industrial certification and college credits to area youth, preparing them for the workforce and post-secondary education. Their mission is to engage students with rigorous and relevant career and technical education for success in the post-secondary and industrial world.
