BAR HARBOR — Astronaut Dan Barry will speak at the Criterion Theatre on Friday, Sept. 11, from 4-6 p.m. as part of the 7th Annual Acadia Night Sky Festival.

As a child growing up, Barry was told that his dream of space flight was unattainable. Now a successful astronaut with three space flights, four spacewalks and two trips to the International Space Station behind him, as well as a successful robotics company he founded, Barry brings his life lessons to bear in this inspirational speech. In addition to his own experiences, Barry also will speak about being in space itself, including a “chest-shaking video presentation” which brings the viewer into the cockpit with him.

This event is a collaboration of the Criterion Theatre and the Acadia Night Sky Festival and is free and open to the public. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Contact the Criterion at 288-0829 or at [email protected]
