Annual roadside cleanup with Friends of Acadia

BAR HARBOR — Registration for the 19th Annual Friends of Acadia Roadside Cleanup is now open. This year’s cleanup is on Saturday, April 28, from 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Family, friends, neighbors and coworkers will join forces to collect a winter’s worth of trash and debris from roadsides on Mount Desert Island and Trenton to help beautify Mount Desert Island and make the area a better place to live.

“Participating in the cleanup is a great way to take pride in your community, get outside and celebrate spring, FOA style!” said Conservation Manager Paige Steele.

Crews collect and bag trash, which is later picked up by Maine Department of Transportation crews.
