MOUNT DESERT — Elly Andrews, a member of the Northeast Harbor Library staff since 2007, has been named director by the library’s board.
She succeeds Brook Minner, who resigned in February to become director of Northeast Historic Film in Bucksport.
Andrews has contributed to the library’s success in many ways, including selecting new books and other materials, soliciting funds and creating “dynamic adult programming,” according to board president Martha Dudman.
She said Andrews also persuaded her friend, the late Katie Roberts, to design a landscape plan for the library.
“Elly shares our vision for the library as a place to inspire, delight, engage and educate,” Dudman said. “We are lucky to have such a wonderful library and such an energetic, enthusiastic person to run it.”
