Acadia Corp to manage Asticou Inn

MOUNT DESERT — Acadia Corporation officials announced on Monday that they have completed a contract to provide management services for the hotel, restaurant, and function operations at the venerable Asticou Inn overlooking Northeast Harbor.

In addition to continuing the traditions at the storied establishment, the Acadia Corporation also plans to feature many of the traditions it developed over the 60 years it operated the Acadia National Park Concession at the Jordan Pond House.

“The Acadia Corporation is thrilled to become a part of this historic island hotel which shares a similar legacy and tradition from the same era when both were created,” company president David Woodside said Monday.

“We look forward to welcoming Asticou’s longtime clientele as well as a many of our longtime Jordan Pond clientele to this historic venue” he added.

Last year, Acadia Corp lost out in its bid to renew the 10-year Acadia concessions contract to Ortega Enterprises of New Mexico.

The company continues to operate at numerous locations in Bar Harbor.

Since 2010, the Asti-Kim Corporation, local owners of the Asticou, have contracted with an outside firm for management services.
