BAR HARBOR — Acadia National Park Deputy Chief of Interpretation and College of the Atlantic alumna Christie Anastasia is the featured guest for COA’s Coffee and Conversation event in Deering Common on Tuesday, July 5, at 9 a.m. This special Acadia Centennial event is free and open to the public.
Anastasia and COA David Rockefeller Family Chair in Ecosystem Management and Protection Ken Cline will discuss the challenges and opportunities encountered by national parks and protected areas.
“Christie’s deep commitment to the ideals of the park’s mission and the role that she plays as a steward of this special place is inspiring to anyone who cares about our national parks, especially Acadia,” Cline said.
COA’s Coffee and Conversation Series spans the cultural, political and social issues shaping our world. Guest speakers include writers, scientists, business leaders and artists. Conversations take place weekly at College of the Atlantic’s Eden Street campus through August.
