Composer-in-residence concert cancelled

BAR HARBOR — A concert with Acadia National Park composer-in-residence Rachel Panitch planned for Jan. 5 at the Jesup library has been cancelled due to the partial government shutdown.

The planned concert was an official National Park Service outreach event, and part of the visitor services that have been discontinued during the shutdown.

Panitch is a Boston-based violinist, improviser, composer and teaching artist. She performs classical music with the Cardamom Quartet and fiddle tunes for dances with French Roast. She improvises with audiences as part of Thread Ensemble, a trio of violins and a vibraphone.
