Violin, piano concert set

ELLSWORTH — Violinist Tracey Jasas-Hardel and pianist Anastasia Antonacos will perform Friday, Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. at the Moore Community Center.

This free, professional concert is organized by the Ellsworth Community Music Institute and sponsored by Machias Savings Bank.

While continuing study at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, she was a regular performer with the National Symphony Orchestra, and other ensembles.

Pianist Anastasia Antonacos of Portland has given performances around the world as a solo recitalist and chamber musician. A former member of the full-time piano faculty at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Antonacos holds a doctorate in piano performance from Indiana University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Maine School of Music.

She is a faculty member at the USM School of Music and a founding director of 240 Strings. She performs regularly around New England.

The Ellsworth Community Music Institute (ECMI), incorporated in January 2013, is a community music organization that aims to enrich the quality of life in Ellsworth and its surrounding region. The group strives to foster a love of live music in all ages, and provide musical friendships within a supportive community. ECMI has drawn people of all ages and abilities, participating in an array of individual music lessons, course offerings, ensembles, and performance workshops.
