TREMONT — The Barn Arts Collective is collaborating on the production of an animal glam rock musical at Chummy’s Boathouse one more weekend, the last weekend of the month, Aug. 26-28.
“Traveling Musicians” is a musical adaptation of the Grimm’s fairy tale “The Traveling Musicians of Brementown.” The show features a rooster, donkey, cat and dog who create a glam rock band that has toured the world and is coming together one last time for a reunion concert. Originally created by NYC theater company 3 Sticks, a previous version of the show played at the Barn in the summer of 2014. This year, 3 Sticks has teamed up with Barn Arts to remount the production as a family-friendly event.
The production is funded in part by a grant from the Maine Arts Commission, an independent state agency supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.
Chummy’s Boathouse is at 2 Mitchell Road. All shows are by donation. Visit www.barnartscollective.com.
