Tour old Somesville



MOUNT DESERT — A series of walking tours through old Somesville hosted by the Mount Desert Island Historical Society is planned for July 7 and 21, and Aug. 4 and 18, from 10-11:30 a.m.

Somesville, the oldest Euro-American settlement on Mount Desert Island, dating from 1761, is a picturesque village located at the northern end of Somes Sound. The walk, led by local historian C.H. Breedlove, will leave from the Somesville Museum.

Admission is $10 and is limited to 10 people for each tour. Email [email protected] to make reservations.
