Theater at Monmouth to perform ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’

ELLSWORTH — Theater at Monmouth will present the classic, comedic, fantastic Shakespearean story of love “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at The Grand on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m.

Magic, laughter and love are on the loose in the woods outside Athens in Shakespeare’s pastoral comedy. The fairy king and queen are at war, court and commoners alike prepare for Theseus and Hippolyta’s wedding, and Puck stirs the pot, leading two pairs of lovers on a wild and wacky chase in search of true romance.

The mission of Theater at Monmouth is to present innovative approaches to Shakespeare and other classic plays through professional productions that enrich the lives of people throughout Maine. In its 46 seasons, TAM has presented more than 320 productions in its three-month summer repertory season, including 26 world premieres, entertaining audiences from 36 states. Through education tours in the fall and spring, the theater reaches more than 15,000 students annually.
