Stratton to talk about domestic violence



MOUNT DESERT — Janet Stratton will make a presentation and lead a discussion on the Next Step Domestic Violence Project at the May Soup with Substance Lecture at the Northeast Harbor Parish Hall, 21 Summit Road, on Tuesday, May 22, from 5-6:30 p.m.

Next Step is a nonprofit organization the mission of which is to assist people impacted by domestic violence while striving to prevent and end the epidemic through education and social change. Stratton will talk about how people can refer someone to Next Steps services if they have concerns for someone.

This free event is open to the public. A simple catered meal begins at 5 p.m. with the program to follow at 5:30 p.m. Childcare is provided.

The Soup with Substance series aims to create conversation and dialogue around issues of concern for Mount Desert Island and its role within the global community.
