SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Bowen Swersey will host another Songwriter Showcase at Coda on Friday, April 6, at 7 p.m.
The songwriters featured are Phil Kell, Everett Dumas, Trisha Mason, Jim Coffman and Sepp Huber. Each performer will present a 25-minute set of their songs.
The event gives songwriters a chance to present their material in a stripped-down, bare-bones format, where the audience can really hear the lyrics and hear the artists talk about their inspiration and compositional process.
Kell plays bass, guitar and piano. At the showcase, he will present his own jazz compositions with Stephen Bowman on guitar.
Dumas plays originals, classic rock, country and blues. His new CD, “Red Raindrops,” features 10 songs about real life events and love.
Mason has recorded two albums with her own band, “RedSky” (2016) and “Worse or Better” (2012).
Coffman plays fiddle and mandolin for the Blake Rosso Band and Banned From Eden. He will play his own songs on acoustic guitar.
