TREMONT — A solo show and an ensemble performance by artists-in-residence are on the bill at the Barn Arts Collectives in Bass Harbor Friday, July 29, and Saturday, July 30.
Neil Redfield will perform a new solo piece called “Love: The Madness of the Gods,” on Friday at 7 p.m. Redfield wrote the show, directed by Inés Braun. In the piece, Redfield personifies three gods of love – Eros, Aphrodite and Urania – as each shares words of advice for humanity. The piece was inspired by the work of Carine Montbertrand, who is a teacher of Redfield and whose show “Seven Devils and a French Nun” played at the Barn last summer.
The Lonely Painter Project, an ensemble led by Misha Chowdhury, will perform “The Last Leaf” on Saturday at 7 p.m. The play is an adaptation of O. Henry’s short story of the same name. This ensemble-devised piece will be directed by Chowdhury and features two professional actors from New York City. Barn Arts Collective co-producer Brittany Parker will round out the cast.
The Barn is located at 130 Tremont Rd. across the street from the Tremont Consolidated School. All shows are by donation. Visit www.barnartscollective.com or call 412-9435.
