BAR HARBOR — Three fundraisers are happening this month in hopes to fund a new walkway, garden and sitting area at Sonogee Rehabilitation and Living Center. Organizers said the project will help residents enjoy the scenery around them.
“I just want to see people get outside,” lead organizer Ginny Norwood said. “This way they can get outside and see the beautiful flowers.”
Norwood said some businesses and community members have pledged time and materials for the project. The project is estimated to cost $15,000.
A craft fair and bake sale is set for Saturday, May 19, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On Tuesday, May 22, a loaded baked potato sale is planned from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Potatoes topped with chili, bacon, chives and more will be available for $5 and delivery is available from downtown to Hulls Cove until 1 p.m.
A yard sale is set for Saturday, May 26, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. rain or shine. Coffee and muffins will be available.
An account for the project is open at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust for donations. Volunteers also are needed, and other fundraisers are in the works.
All of these events will be held at Sonogee. Call Norwood at 479-5335.
