Shakespeare reading open to public participation

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — A Shakespeare community play reading will be hosted by the Barn Arts Collective’s Andrew Simon and Brittany Parker at the Southwest Harbor Public Library on Tuesday, April 24, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Participants will break up into two groups to read the Barn Art’s cut versions of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” and “The Tempest.” Everyone in attendance will get the opportunity to read a part. Both plays are part of Shakespeare by the Sea, a summer collaboration with the Acadia Community Theater that includes both professional and community actors in the productions.

The reading is open to all ages. Refreshments will be served. Call the library at 244-7065.
