ELLSWORTH — Tickets for The Grand’s day-trip to Boston to see the touring show of the Broadway musical “Waitress” on Saturday, Feb. 24, are still available.
“Inspired by the late Adrienne Shelly’s film,” said a press release, “ ‘Waitress’ tells the story of Jenna, a waitress and expert pie maker, who dreams of a way out of her small town and loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town’s new doctor may offer her a chance at a fresh start, while her fellow waitresses offer their own recipes for happiness. But Jenna must summon the strength and courage to rebuild her own life.”
The show features original music and lyrics by six-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles, a book by screenwriter Jessie Nelson and direction by Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus.
Tickets, which cost $275 per person, include a round-trip ticket on a motor coach, ticket to the 2 p.m. show at the Boston Opera House and dinner at a restaurant. Every person who buys a ticket for “Waitress” will receive $50 off their purchase for the “Broadway or Bussed: Hamilton” trip in September.
