‘Rhythms of the Heart’ to play again

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — “Rhythms of the Heart,” by Southwest Harbor filmmaker Thom Willey, will be shown at the Southwest Harbor Public Library on Friday, July 22, at 5:30 p.m.

The documentary film depicts Passamaquoddy canoe and basket craftsman David Moses Bridges and his journey to preserve family, life and tradition while facing a life-threatening illness.

A lifetime resident of Southwest Harbor, Willey has worked in the motion picture and television industries since 1990 on films such as “Dan in Real Life,” “Courage under Fire” and multiple Stephen King film adaptations.

“Rhythms of the Heart” was funded in part by a grant from the Maine Arts Commission, an independent state agency supported by the National Endowment for the Arts. Original music for the film was composed and performed by Southwest Harbor resident Chris Gray.
