Rare instrument concert to benefit mission



BAR HARBOR — Maine musician Katherine Rhoda will play rare, vintage folk instruments and sing at the Bar Harbor Congregational Church, 29 Mount Desert St., to benefit the Maine Sea Coast Mission, on Thursday, Aug. 25, at 7:30 p.m.

With her Marxophone, violin-guitar, harpeleik and other unusual instruments, Rhoda will present an evening of traditional and original music from her new CD “Joyful Confluence.” A native of Milo, Rhoda now lives in Hiram. She became familiar with the work of the Maine Sea Coast Mission during her many years working on the island of Monhegan. Visit www.soundcloud.com/katherine-rhoda.

Tickets cost $15 for adults, $8 for children or $25 for a family.
