Quilt auction to support Jesup

BAR HARBOR — “Bunny Loves To Read”-themed quilts created by Carol Fortier and her Storyland quilters are on display at the Jesup Memorial Library and are available in a silent auction to support the library.

Bidding for many of the quilts begins at $25, including a copy of the book “Bunny Loves to Read.” Bidding closes on Saturday, April 15, just in time for Easter. Contact the Jesup at 288-4245 or [email protected].

As a private nonprofit, the Jesup has served as the public library in the town of Bar Harbor since it opened in 1911. However, the town provides less than 5 percent of the funds needed by the library to keep the doors open. Endowment provides another 39 percent. The rest comes from generous businesses and individuals.
