Program to teach nonviolent protest



ELLSWORTH — A nonviolent direct action training will take place at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ellsworth on Saturday, Jan. 13, from 12-5 p.m.

The training will be led by Resources for Organizing and Social Change (ROSC) and is sponsored by the peace and social action committee at the church and Eastern Maine for Racial Justice. Methods to protest issues nonviolently using legal strategies and letter and media campaigns, as well as peaceful protesting, will be covered. Larry Dansinger from ROSC is the program organizer.

Participants should bring a bag lunch. Coffee, tea and light refreshments will be served. Donations to the presenters are requested but not required. Contact Nathalie Arruda at [email protected]
