BAR HARBOR — Ann Sears and Guy Urban will present duet and solo piano works by Schubert, Liszt, Brahms, Stewart, Rachmaninoff and Gershwin at St. Saviour’s Episcopal Church, 41 Mount Desert St., on Sunday, July 1, at 7 p.m.
The concert is free, but donations will benefit MDI Search and Rescue. The suggested donation is $20.
Sears is professor of music and chair of the Music Department at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass., where she teaches piano and courses in American music. She holds degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music, Arizona State University and The Catholic University of America, where her doctoral dissertation was about American art song in turn-of-the-century Boston.
Urban is associate professor of music at Wheaton College. He performs as a soloist and as a member of the Gray Cliff Trio, and holds a degree from the New England Conservatory of Music.
St. Saviour’s Episcopal Church is handicap accessible, was founded in 1876 and strives to be a lively spiritual resource for the entire Bar Harbor community. Sunday worship is at 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., as well as morning prayer on Tuesday and Thursday at 8:30 a.m., and a healing Eucharist on Wednesday at 12 p.m.

MDI Search and Rescue is an all-volunteer, nonprofit service organization that provides search and rescue assistance on Mount Desert Island and surrounding communities. MDI SAR team members respond to callouts by Acadia National Park, the Maine Warden Service and local police and fire departments. Their capabilities include ground searches for missing persons, emergency wilderness medicine and technical rope rescue. MDI SAR was established in 1982.
