SOUTHWEST HARBOR — A pair of Arthur Russell Strings (ARS) festival public concerts will take place at St. John Episcopal Church on Main Street on Thursday and Friday, July 7 and 8.

A concert by former ARS students who are currently mentors will benefit the Westside Food Pantry and take place on Thursday at 4 p.m. The Friday concert, at 5:30 p.m., is a student performance. A reception will follow.

The festival, now a program of the Ellsworth Community Music Institute, is an ensemble program for young musicians. It has been a source of music instruction and camaraderie for almost two decades.
