Night sky topic of art walk talk

BAR HARBOR — Karen Zimmermann and Ivan Rasmussen will share words, works and wisdom for exploring what happens during the night in Acadia National Park at Art on West Gallery, 78 West St., during the First Friday Art Walk on June 1.

Rasmussen’s new work includes Acadia Night Sky watercolors of iconic scenes such as stars over the Bubbles, the Beehive and the Porcupines.

Zimmermann will sign copies of her book “Nightwalk: Using All Your Senses To Explore the Natural World” and will show her ideas for creating a night walk field kit.

Venues all over downtown Bar Harbor will open their doors from 6-9 p.m. to introduce the art of artists from Maine and beyond. A walking map will be available at each participating venue, local lodging and the chamber of commerce information centers a few days before the event. The map can be downloaded at www.artwalkbarharbor.com.
