SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The Mallett Brothers Band will play at The Legion, Municipal Parking Lot and Main Street, on Friday, June 17, from 7:30-10:30 p.m. in a concert put on by the Village Green Arts Association.
The Mallett Brothers Band is a Maine band with a style that spans country, rock and roll, Americana and “alt-country” genres. With the upcoming release of their fourth studio album, “Lights along the River,” the band continues its rigorous touring schedule, playing upwards of 150 shows a year across the country, and its mission of sending genuine, heartfelt and independent music out into the world. Led by brothers Luke and Will Mallett, the band is rounded out by Adam Cogswell on drums, Nick Leen on bass, Wally on dobro and electric guitar and Andrew Martelle on fiddle and mandolin.
The Village Green Arts Association is a nonprofit corporation redeveloping an area of Southwest Harbor called “The Village Green” as a new town center dedicated to providing opportunities for the arts, education and entertainment year-round.
There are three components of development: a new Acadia Arts Center, presently the American Legion Hall, the Island Watch Creative Center atop one of the highest peaks in the village and general Village Green improvements, including new vehicular and pedestrian circulation, landscaping, lighting and signage.
