Maine Comedy All-stars to lead workshop, perform

BAR HARBOR — The Maine Comedy All-stars will put on a show at The Criterion Theatre on Saturday, July 21, at 8 p.m.

The show will be hosted by Connor McGrath, voted Maine’s funniest comedian in the 2017 Portland Phoenix Reader’s Poll. Colby Bradshaw, an up-and-coming star, will open; Colby won the 2017 Couch Comedy Competition, beating out 60 other comedians. Denis Fogg will keep the laughs coming with his rapid-fire wittiness and unique take on Maine humor. Headlining the night is Ian Stuart, founder of the Portland Maine Comedy Festival.

The All-stars also will lead a comedy workshop at 1 p.m. the day of the show. In this workshop, students will focus on the techniques and science of comedic writing and performing. Taught by a professional comedian, participants will learn how to write and perform comedic stories, one-liners and monologues. This workshop is for those who are interested in stand-up comedy, late-night writing and anyone that’s interested in including comedy in their writing and daily life.
