‘Willy Wonka’ to grace two stages



BAR HARBOR — The Acadia Community Theater will present the musical “Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka,” a live production based on the book and movie “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” at two venues on consecutive weekends in April.

The show will take the stage at Mount Desert Island High School first on Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9, at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, April 10, at 2 p.m.

The Criterion Theatre hosts the final performances on Friday, April 15, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 16, at 2 p.m.

Artistic direction of the show is by Mike Perlman, and music direction is by Annie Leonardi-Merchant.

Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 for seniors or those 12 years and under, except children under 2, who attend for free. Tickets for the MDI High School performances may be reserved at [email protected]. Tickets for Criterion Theatre performances may be reserved at www.criteriontheatre.org. Tickets also will be available at the door.
