BAR HARBOR — St Saviour’s Episcopal Parish will present organist Ray Cornils as part of the Summer Organ Series on Friday, Aug. 22, from 12:15-1 p.m.

Ray Cornils is the Portland Municipal Organist, one of only two such posts in the United States. He is also Director of Music at Brunswick’s First Parish Church and has concertized throughout the US, Europe and South America. He holds degrees from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and the New England Conservatory.

Cornils has been a regular in this series since its inception in 2007 and always delights audiences with his entertaining selections and commentary. His program will include works by Handel, Noel Rawsthorne, Nigel Ogden and Bach’s St. Anne Fugue.

The Summer Organ Series is made possible by the generous support of St. Saviour’s Friends of Music. Admission to the recitals is by donation, and a reception will follow to meet the artists. The church is handicapped accessible. Call the church at 288-4215 or visit stsaviours.me.
