BAR HARBOR — The next Pecha Kucha MDI night is set for Wednesday, June 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Abbe Museum backyard. “Bring a lawn chair, picnic dinner and eagerness to learn something new very quickly,” organizers said.
The Pecha Kucha format is simple: 20 images x 20 seconds. This format makes presentations concise and keeps things moving rapidly.
The organization, now known simply as PKMDI, aims to produce at least three PKMDI nights a year with its third partner, Breaking Even Communications.
June session presenters include Darron Collins, president of College of the Atlantic; Steve Perrin, granite enthusiast; map-maker Hope Rowan; Jennifer Litteral, coffee expert; Abbe Museum curator of collections Julia Clark; Thom Willey, volunteer firefighter and filmmaker; place-based cultural researcher Virginia Mellen; and Jim Picariello, who will recount his time in a cult.
