ELLSWORTH — The Grand’s School of Performing Arts Summer Theater Camp is open to interested youths and teens ages nine to 20. The Grand’s Robin Jones will direct the camp, which will stage two productions from the world of Broadway. Nina Robinson-Poole is assistant director and choreographer. Rebecca and Ethan Edmondson join the camps as musical directors of the youth camp
The Teen Camp, for teens aged 15 to 20, will run Monday through Friday, June 29 through July 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The camp will culminate in the production of Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None” from July 23 through July 25. In this classic Christie mystery, 10 strangers meet in an isolated mansion on a deserted island only to be murdered one by one. Students will participate in workshops that broaden their skills in acting, movement, musical performance, stage lighting and set construction, as well as learn how to do British accents.
The Youth Camp, for ages nine to 14, will run Monday through Friday, July 27 through Aug. 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This camp will conclude with a production of “Schoolhouse Rock Live, Jr.,” performed on Aug. 14 and 15. This production is a 45-minute, child-appropriate stage version of the Saturday morning cartoons featuring such hits as “Conjunction Junction” and “I’m Just a Bill.”
The fee is $300 for Youth Camp and $500 for Teen Camp. The deadline for registration is June 19, and the fees must be paid in full with submission of the registration form. Inquiries for camp scholarships should be directed to your school or community. Visit www.grandonline.org for registration forms or call the box office at 667-9500 to request a form.
