TREMONT — Lobster boat races, the annual blessing of the fleet and other activities rained out last weekend during the second day of the Bass Harbor Days celebration have been rescheduled for Sunday.
More than 60 boats are expected to compete in the lobster boat races, which are sanctioned by the Maine Lobster Boat Racing Association. Registration is at 9 a.m. at the Town Wharf. Races will begin at 10:30 a.m. Homeport fishermen also will compete for the coveted fastest boat in Bass Harbor award.
Barbecued pork and other food prepared by members of the Tremont Congregational Church will be available at the wharf. At 1:30 p.m., Rev. Buchanan will conduct a blessing of the fleet from the bow of Wid Mincton’s barge, Charles Bradley.
