Benefit jazz performance set



BAR HARBOR — Musician and composer Kevin Campbell will lead his contemporary jazz ensemble, the Color of Sound, in a performance of original compositions and familiar jazz classics at St. Saviour’s Episcopal Church on Friday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m.

Merging sensitive vocal Bossa Nova-influenced stylings with exciting instrumental jazz, the Color of Sound offers a wide sonic palette to appeal to music lovers of all styles.

Performing songs from their debut CD “First Light,” new original compositions and jazz classics, the ensemble will present an evening of dynamic musical entertainment featuring some of the area’s finest jazz musicians.

Winner of both the Helen Hayes and Barrymore Awards for musical direction in New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., Mr. Campbell will present compositions and arrangements highlighting the interplay between ensemble and stylistic artistry.

The suggested donation of $10 at the door will benefit Local Solutions and St. Saviour’s outreach programs.

St. Saviour’s Church is located at 41 Mount Desert St.
