MOUNT DESERT — The Barn Arts Collective will present “Alice in Winterland,” an original site-specific show, at Camp Beech Cliff on Saturday, March 5, at 10 a.m. The performance is part of the Acadia Winter Festival and is sponsored by the Southwest Harbor Public Library.
“We’re thrilled to use Camp Beech Cliff’s beautiful nature trail as our backdrop for ‘Alice,’” said Barn Arts co-producer Brittany Parker. “The audience will see classic characters from the story brought to life in a totally new way.”
The show will begin in CBC’s gym, but won’t stay inside for long. Audience members will venture outside with Alice as she follows the white rabbit through a world of strange and wonderful creatures.
Audience members are urged to wear shoes and clothing suitable for walking outdoors. Everyone will be encouraged to add snow creatures to the nature trail at the end of the performance as part of an outdoor art exhibit for the festival. Admission is free.
